Has it really been a month since I've blogged?  This past month has been a busy one!!!

First things first...Thanksgiving was great!  The food and was amazing!  My mom always is able to make the best food EVER!  Turkey, stuffing, Czech potato dumplings, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, gravy, roles, "frog eyed salad", sweet potato casserole, and fruit filled jello!

The next day (Black Friday), my boss let me off of work early and I got in the mood to put up Christmas decorations!  I just put up the Christmas tree and got some pretty garland with lights from my mom, bought two burgundy red bows (from the 99 cent store) and put it all up!!  It makes our little 900 sq ft apartment feel so Christmasy and cute!

All I need is a fire and it's all set!  I still need to make a wreath and I really want to do a few other projects, but last year I didn't even get up the tree or the garland!  This year I've made good progress!!  Haha!

Marcus and I have already done most of our shopping online this year.  Amazon.com baby!!  Bought 4 family member's worth of presents and got free shipping!  Plus since it's was "Cyber Monday" when we bought everything...it was all like 1/2 off!!  Woohoo!!

Things are still somewhat hectic so when I have more time I'll update again....not in another whole month again.  *crosses heart

Due Date

Went with hubby and friend to see "Due Date" starring Zach Galifianakis and Robert Downey Jr.!  Very funny!  Wasn't the type of movie that I'd rush out to go see again, but it has it's moments that will make me want to watch it again when it comes out on dvd (or Netflix)!

Synopsis: Peter, a "high-strung" father-to-be (Robert Downey Jr) is about to board his plane and go home to see the birth of his first child when anything and everything seems to go wrong.  Enter Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis).  Ethan does everything from get himself and Peter on the "no fly list" as well as seemingly ruin any situation that might have been good.  Spending gas/food money on weed, carry his fathers remains in a coffee can, actually masturbate (ugh, i hate that word) in the car...everything you can probably think of...it happens.  They even make it across the Mexican border!

The movie was funny like I said earlier.  Definitely had a few moments that were a tad bit awkward and more guy humor...me being the only girl in the group had a few blushing moments.  Chemistry between Robert Downey  Jr and Zach Galifianakis was amazing!  They played off of each other and really pulled the whole movie together.

RED ...the movie

File:Red ver7.jpgSo my hubby and I went and saw the movie RED the other night.  The title stands for "Retired Extremely Dangerous".  Basically the plot is that a retired CIA black ops agent, Frank Moses (aka: Bruce Willis) is living his day to day life when someone from Langley marks his file "RED" and orders he be taken out.  The story evolves into his getting the "old gang" (literally "old") back together.  Pretty soon 3 ex CIA agents join the team (Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, and Helen Mirren) and go out to find who has placed his file on "RED".

The story is a good one.  The mom on "Weeds" (Mary-Louise Parker) is in the movie and I completely adore her, so I was very excited to see her in the movie!  :)  It made my heart happy.  It's a crack-up film with a lot of action.  Corny is some parts, but overall a good movie.  I would have probably waited to see it on Netflix or when it came out on DVD, but it was a good movie to randomly watch that didn't require a lot of thinking!

Ouachita!

Went to Ouachita Baptist University this weekend!! It was homecoming and going back to see the beautiful campus was great!  They've done so much work to the buildings and campus since I've been gone that it's truly an amazing sight!  I've only been a graduate for 3 1/2 years and they've already torn down like 3 of the old nasty dorms and put up what looks like penthouse suites on campus.  Why couldn't they have done that when I was there?!?

Took a road trip with my brother and had a blast!  He's a senior at Baylor University and so we just took off and had a blast!  The drive out there had the most beautiful scenery!
The leaves on "Texas" side were still pretty green with just a hint of turning while farther in Arkansas the leaves were actually starting to turn the great shades only fall can bring!

We stopped by Lake Degrey while we were out there...the sunset was so beautiful!  I definately took this view for granted when I lived at Ouachita!  I can't believe I was able to see this everyday and didn't jump on that chance!!

My brother and I jammed out to everything from Fuel to Justin Beiber, Rob Zombie to Britney Spears...it was fun to just chill out and be with my brother.  Can't wait for next year!

The Town

Went and saw "The Town" with the hubby and a couple friends a few days ago.  After hearing about how great it is and seeing the wonderful reviews it got...I must say I was just a smidge disappointed.  Not to say it was a bad movie...I'm not going to give it a bad review it all...it just...wasn't what I imagined it to be, I guess.

The movie about a group of kids who grew up together in Charlestown, now adults and who now answer to a guy called "the florist".  They are part of a mob/gang that has been located in that part of town for pretty much all their lives.  They basically go in and rob banks, rob armored trucks, and take out those who stand in their way.  In the midst of it all, Ben Affleck's character falls in love with a main witness from a bank robbery.  Blake Lively stars in the movie as well as a crack head single mother who gets faced with some difficult decisions.

The movie starts with (in a Boston accent): "Driver's name is Arthur Shea. Former Metro Police officer, fifty-seven years old. Soon as his partner leaves with the coal bag, Artie cracks a Herald, and he don't look up 'til the guy gets back. Marty Maguire. Cummins Armored courier. Five-ten, two-twenty, fifty-two years old. Picks up every Wednesday and Friday at exactly 8:12, makes a hundred and ten dollars a day, carries a Sig nine. And he's about to get robbed."  So straight from the beginning you get the idea behind the movie.  They do their homework on the "job", do the "job", and get away with it.  It all leads up to the biggest job ever in the end...worth over a couple million.  Of course ladies and gentlemen, that's where everyone gets trigger happy.

Overall, it's a great movie to go see, I don't know that I'll go out and buy it when it comes to DVD but it's a good movie none the less.

Current FanFiction Stories

So, I usually read FanFiction Twilight stories that are complete.  I tend to shy away from incomplete stories as the authors often get busy with real life and neglect readers with updates.  I am however in the middle of 2 yes, 2! stories that are incomplete!  The authors are doing great at updating and the stories have me "sucked" into their wolds!

First up:  There Will Be Blood by JohnnyBoy7

Set in Chicago, the story is about the Cullens...the mob bosses that rule Chicago and most of the world.  Edward is second in command and is dealing with everything from cocaine, alcohol, OCD, and a major love of sex with anything that has a vagina.  Bella is an incoming freshman at college and "bumps" into the one and only Edward Cullen.  She won't give into his usual panty dropping antics and there begins the game of "cat and mouse" that Edward is so sure he'll win.

This author updates twice a week (quite a rarity and wonderful thing)...Tuesdays and Fridays.

I'm absolutely in LOVE with this story.  It gets gruesome (and lemony...mmm!), Edward has some major issues (when does Edward ever NOT have issues?), and Jacob never gets in the way to create a sloppy love triangle (yaaaay!).  I told the author that I have been engrossed in his story for the past 3 days with my husband wondering if I was still in love with him...it's THAT good.  Read...read...scoot!!  Go!

...And for the second story:  Let's Get Physical by Lalina

Set in Forks, WA, Edward is a physical fitness trainer at a gym, single and very hot.  Bella, just had her jerk of a husband James walk out on her saying he wanted a divorce because Bella has "turned into the Goodyear fucking Blimp".  So Bella takes that as her cue to go ahead and get back into shape.  After getting Edward as her trainer though...things get heated up.

I adore this story in the fact that it's seemingly realistic with the fact that Bella isn't your 102 lb, size 0, 35 yr old woman.  She's a real woman that has dealt with shit in life and found that food was a way to stop the pain.  This author tends to update once a week.  She writes more on the fluffy/lemony side.  But it's soooo good!!  So go read the story already!!!

Again, both stories are great!  They are very different so depending on what style of books you like...one or both of these will get you going!  :)

Post Secrets

Post Secret has been a website that I just can't seem to forget...but one I can only check so often.  It's such a sad website, yet one that is completely liberating to others.  Basically the idea is to have an admission of a secret, a terrifying blurb of information that you feel would ruin your life if someone you knew or family knew about.  This information is something that might make your family shun you or something you've had bottled inside you that you.

All the secrets get sent to "someone" on a little postcard, completely anonymous, and yet so very intimate.  The things that hurt, the things that make us cry, that one comment that we'll never forget (even from 10 years ago), the baggage we carry...it's all laid bare on that website.

It's amazing the pain we all suffer.  Everyone looks so amazingly fresh, so untouched by the world, like life is SO amazing!  Yet, there's that one part in our lives that haunts us or even taunts us to know that if the ONE thing came out in our circle of friends or loved ones...that it just might ruin us.  A lot of times the fear of that one piece of information overwhelmingly gets in the way of peace.  It takes a lot of guts to say something.  At least these people are getting to say what they feel inside.

I wonder if you were to see your postcard plastered on PostSecret...would it be a comfort or a panic attack?
